Facilities

Facilities include: on the ground floor The Ida Burke Hall, with enormous potential for a wide variety of meetings, social events, arts workshops, exhibitions, and many other activities. It is a very light and airy space with hardwood beech floor, clear walls, and attractive doors and woodwork in American cherry. Up to 50 can be seated in rows for lecture style presentations, or 30 around tables, café style. This space extends into The Allison Tea Room with seating for 20 around tables, and both are served by a kitchen furnished to commercial catering standards.  There is also an enclosed patio area to the rear which is especially attractive in summer months.

Upstairs there is another meeting room, The Phyllis Carter Room with a stunning view of St Margaret’s Church, Durham Cathedral and the Castle. It will accommodate up to 30 people.  The rest of the building comprises of offices for the Rector, the Rector’s Secretary and others.
