Helping Out
We are always delighted to welcome volunteers to contribute to the life of the church. Please get in touch with the rector and/or churchwardens if you are interested in contributing in any way.
The Ecochurch Group looks at all aspects of improving St Margaret’s environmental stance, currently focusing on how to reduce the energy use, and hence carbon footprint, of our two buildings (the church itself, and Antioch House Parish Centre). You don’t have to be an environmental expert to be part of the Group – an interest in ‘greening’ St Margaret’s everyday activities is all that’s needed.
Flower arranging. Flowers are arranged in church on Fridays at 10am.
Children’s ministry. We are looking for people to develop this important role.
Music and singing. We would very gladly welcome singers to join the choir, and instrumentalists to play during communion.
- Reading and/or leading intercessions. We welcome volunteers interested in reading a lesson and/or leading intercessions from time to time on Sundays.
Serving. Would you like to carry a candle or the processional cross during the services? The servers represent the laity in the sanctuary, assist the priest during services, and try to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Coffee rota. We offer coffee/biscuits after every Sunday service as a chance to catch up with each other and welcome assistance with this.
